the last Will and Testament of me Sarah
Needham of High Needham in the parish of
Hartington in the County of Derby Single Woman.
First I will and direct that all my just
debts funeral expenses and the expense of proving
this my will shall be fully paid and discharged
by my Executors hereinafter named by and
out of my personal Estate. Also I give and
bequeath unto my loving Brothers John
Needham and Joseph Needham all and singular
my money and securities for money bills
bonds notes mortgages in fee mortgages
for terms of years and all other my
personal Estate and Effect of what
nature of kind soever and wheresoever.
To hold to them my said Brothers
John Needham and Joseph Needham and
the Survivor of them and the Executors
Administrators and Assigns of such
Survivor upon this special trust and
confidence that is to say Upon trust that
they my said Brothers and the survivor
of them and the Executors Administrators
and assigns of such survivor shall and
do as soon as conveniently may be after
my decease place out at Interest all
and singular my said personal Estate
and Effects in the names of them my
said Brother their Executors Administrators
and Assigns and upon further trust that
they my said brothers or the survivor
of them of the Executors Administratos or
Assigns of such survivor shall and do well
and truly pay or cause to be paid unto
Alice Edge Needham of High Needham
aforesaid Single Woman yearly and every
year for and during the term of her natural
life by two even half yearly payments that
is to say Lady day and Michaelmas the
first payment thereof to commence and
be made on such of the said days as shall
next happen after my decease the yearly
or annual interest arising or to be made
from my said personal Estate and Effects
and I do hereby direct that the receipt
of the said Alice Edge Needham
notwithstanding she may happen to be a
married woman shall at all times be
a good and sufficient discharge and
good and sufficient discharge to my said
brothers and the survivor of them his or
their Executors Administrators and Assigns
for the same and that the same shall
not be subject or liable to the debts
controul or intermeddling of any husband
she may happen to marry and from and
immediately after the decease of the said
Alice Edge Needham then upon trust
that they my said Executors or the survivor
of them of the Executors Administrators
or Assigns of such survivor do and
shall immediatley or as soon as conveniently
may be after the decease of the said Alice
Edge Needham call in all and every the
said principal sums of money and effects as
aforesaid and pay the same unto and amongst
the children of the said Alice Egde Needham
share and share alike and if there shall
happen to be but one child the to pay the
whole of the said money and effects unto
such only child his or her Executors
Administrators or Assigns Nevertheless that
if in case it shall so happen that the said
Alice Edge Needham shall happen to depart
this life without leaving one or more
Child or Children her survivng then
Upon further trust that they my said
Brothers or the survivor of them or the
Executors Administrators or Assigns of such

children of my said brother Joseph Needham
all and every the principal money and
effects hereinbefore by me bequeathed in
equal shares and proportions and lastly
I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint
my said brothers John Needham and Joseph

making void all former and other wills by

Thomas Needham, farmer of High Needham itp Hartington, 1805/07

This is the last Will and Testament of me
Thomas Needham of High Needham in the parish of
Hartington in the County of Derby Farmer. First
I will and direct that all my just debts, funeral
expenses, the expense of proving this my will &
all other expenses incident thereunto shall be
paid and discharged by my Executors hereafter
named by and out of my Personal Estate. And
whereas I have lately given unto my Son in
Law Joseph Grindey a sum of money equal
to a Legacy which I had heretofore given unto
his wife Mary Grindey And therefore I do hereby
give and bequeath to her the sum of one shilling.
Also I give and bequeath unto my Nephews Thomas
Roberts and Matthew Roberts each the sum of
Ten Pounds to be paid to them at the end
of twelve months next after my decease. Also
I give and bequeath unto my Nieces
Esther Broadhurst and Esther Lomas the sum
of twenty pounds each to be paid at the
end of twleve months next after my decease.
Also I Give and bequeath unto the Nine
children of my Son Joseph Needham the
sum of Thirty Pounds apiece to be paid
to them when and as they shall severaly
attain the age of twenty one years. And
the interest to arise or to be made from the
Legacies so given to the children of the said
Joseph Needham as aforesaid I do hereby
will and direct shall be retained by
their Father Joseph Needham to & for his
own use Except the sum of four Pounds
a year which I do hereby will and
direct shall be paid and applied
annually in the Schooleage for and
towards the Education of the children
of the said Joseph Needham until
the youngest of such children shall
have attained his or her age of
fourteen years. Provided always
that if it shall so happen that any
of the children of the said Joseph
Needham shall not happen to live
to attain his or her age of Twenty
one years that the legacy of him
her or them is so happening to die
shall be paid and equally divided
to and amongst the surviving children
when and as they shall severally
attain their age of twenty one years.
Also I give and Bequeath unto my
Son John Needham All my household
Goods and Furniture. And also
I Give and Bequeath unto my said
Son Joseph Needham the sum of
Twenty Pounds in lieu of such
Goods so given to his Brother
John Needham: All and every the
rest residue and remainder of my Personal Estate
and Effects of what nature or kind soever
I Give and Bequeath the same unto my
said two Sons John Needham and Joseph
Needham in equal shares and proportions.
And lastly I do hereby Nominate
constitute and Appoint my said two Sons
John & Joseph Needham joint Executors
of this my last Will and Testament hereby

being of sound mind memory and understanding do
make publish and declare this to be my last Will and
Testament in manner and form following, that is to
say, First I will and direct that all my just Debts
funeral testamentary and all other epenses attending
the Execution of the trusts of this my Will shall be paid
and discharged by and out of my real Estate and
subject thereto. Then I will and direct that my Estate
which I live upon called Goodcow shall be sold at the
discresion of my Executors hereafter named togerther
with my Personal Estate all but one Bed my Clock
the largest Chest, Dresser of drawers fall table two chairs
and small Kettle, those I wish my niece Alice Edge
Needham to have them. And all my money that I
have out upon security together with all Debts belonging
to me be called in as soon as my Executors think pro-
per. Then I will and direct that my Executors shall
pay to my Brother Joseph Needham the sum of Ten
Pounds. Also to my Sister Mary Grindey the sum of
Ten Pounds, Likewise my Will is that my Executors
shall have each Five Pounds. Then the remainder of
my Estate called Goodcow together with all ready
money called in shall be divided in the following man-
ner to my nephews and neices, viz, Alice Edge Needham, John
Grindey, Mary Oliver, Easter Lomas, Mary Edge,
Joseph Needham, William Needham, Thomas Needham,
Easter Bagshaw, Elizabeth Johnson, Sarah Needham,
John Needham, Isaac Needham, Matthew Roberts and
Mary Roberts daughter of my nephew Richard Roberts
equally amongst them share and share alike and
those that are not at the age of Twenty one years their
share to be in the care of my Executors to be paid them
as they come to age. And if any of the above Legatees should
die before they receive their legacies then their share to go to
there issue if any, but if none, their share to go amongest
the rest of the legatees. And I further will and direct that
my Freefold and Copyhold Estate lying at Glutton
Bridge in the Parish of Hartington in the County of Derby
shall be sold when the youngest of the Four following lega-
tees comes to the age of Twenty one years, viz, Elizabeth
Broadhurst daughter of my niece Easter Broadhurst. Also
Richard Broadhurst son of my niece Easter Broadhurst
Also John Roberts son of my nephew Thomas Roberts and
my niece Martha Needham. And my will is that these
four legatees shall be made equal with the before menti-
oned legatees and the overplus if any to be equally di-
vided amongest them all leaving my Brother Joseph
Needham and my sister Mary Grindey out. And lastly
I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint Ralph Johnson
of Fourside and Thomas Wood junior of Fawfieldhead joint
Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking
and making void all former and other will and wills by
me at any time heretofore made. And I do hereby publish
and declare this to be my last Will and Testamant. In
Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal
this Twenty sixth day of June in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and eightteen.

My Executors paying one half and my wife the other half
till it shall arrive at fourteen years of age but if the
Child live to attain the age of twenty one years of age
What money that is Left if any in my Executors hands
I will and direct it shall be paid to the beforesaid Child
But if the Child do not live to attain the age of twenty one
years of age thenI will and direct that the half that is
Left in the Care of my Executors Be paid to my
Fatiher Joseph Needham of Highneedham as soon
as the Child is dead and all expenses attending the
Funeral paid.
And as their is some money that I have now Receiv'd
till some come to age that was left me by my late
uncle John Needhams will I will and direct it to
be put out at Intrist to go towards
finding it Cloaths for the said Child and if the Child
should arrive at the age of twenty one years of age
I will and direct that all the money to come from
my late uncles John Needhams will shall be paid
to the aforesaid Child but if itshould not arrive
at the age of twenty one years of age I give the whole
to my Faither Joseph Needham aforesaid
but if my Faither should be dead before the Child
I wish it to be Equail divided among all my Brothers
and sisters and if any be dead their share to go
Equil between Their children. And lastly I do hereby
nominate Constitute and appoint John Needham
of Shuttershawe and John Bagshaw of Hillhouse
Joint Executors of this my last Will and Testament
Hereby revoking and making void all former and
other will or wills by me at any time made

This is the Last Will and Testament of me Joseph Needham
of Laskedge in the parish of Horton and County of Stafford Farmer
being of sound and disposing mind and memory, do make and declare
this to be my last will and testament, in manner following: that is to say
I order that all my just debts, funeral expenses and charges of proving
this my will, be, in the first place fully paid and satisfied, and
after payment thereof and of every part thereof Out of my Estate.
First I give and bequeath to my Grand-son John Edge the Sum of
ten pounds of lawful money of the United Kingdom of Great Britain
and Ireland current in England, also I give and bequeath to my
son John Needham the Sum of Sixty pounds Likewise I give and
bequeath to my son Thomas Needham the Sum of Sixty pounds
and I give and bequeath to my daughter Sarah Bonsal the sum
of Thirty pounds and I give and bequeath to my Grand Daughter
Martha Ann Needham the Sum of Sixty pounds Likewise I give
and bequeath to my house keeper Ann Belfield the sum of Ten
pounds and I also give to the said Ann Belfield my Chest and
Light Coloured Feather Bed and Chaff Bed under it and sheets
Blankets Coverlets Bolsters and Pillows sufficient for one good
Bed and I give to Ann Belfield one Cow Stirk called Leek.
And I give to Thomas Wardle the sum of one pound All these
before named Legacies to be paid out of my real and Personal
Estate.
And I give all my Deastical Books to my son William Needham
And I give to Samuel Bondsal the History of England Likewise I give
to my Son Thomas Needham one book called Bucan and the rest
of my Books to be divided amongst my Children.
I likewise give to my Executors hereinafter mentioned the Power of
Selling my Real and Personal Estate.
That is to say that my real Estate called Shuttershawe lying at Lask-Edge
And Crowborough Both in the parish of Horton and County of
Stafford. To be both sold within, six months after my decease.
And all the rest, residue and remainder of my personal Estate
Goods, chattels and effects whatsoever and weresoever the same my be
To be sold as soon as can be made convenient after my decease.
And all the before mentioned Legatees to be paid first Only Martha
Ann Needham my Grand-Daughter must receive hers when she
come to the age of Twenty-One years but if she should die before
she comes of age I direct that her share shall be equally Divided
among all my children Or their heirs Share and Share alike.
And as Mary Edge is dead I give her share to her children to have
Share and Share alike.
Only I wish my Son in law William Edge to have the Interest
of the same during his natural life.
And I Direct that my son Thomas Needham shall have all my
Clothes.
And all the rest Residue and Remainder of my Real and Personal
Estate to be equally Divided among my Children Share and Share
Alike.
That is to say, to my Sons Joseph Needham

And My Daughters Mary Edges Children
