James Kirkham, farmer of the Spout, Fawfieldhead, Alstonefield, 1886/89
This is the last Will and Testament
of me James Kirkham of the Spout of the township of Fawfieldhead
in the parish of Alstonefield in the County of Stafford farmer. First I direct
that all my just debts funeral and testamentary expences be paid by my
Executors out of my personal estate I give and bequeath to my son Joseph
Kirkham and to my daughter Hannah Kirkham the whole of my estate and effects
wheresoever and whatsoever jointly betwixt them if they shall continue to live
together on the farm but if they would rather seperate then I order my son Joseph
to pay to my daughter Hannah the sum of forty pounds as her share of the
jointure and also my son Joseph shall pay unto my other six children or their
representatives the sum of five pounds each, that is to say to the children of my
deceased son James Kirkham the sum of five pounds equally betwixt them to
my son Thomas Kirkham the sum of five pounds to my daughter Jane Marris
the sum of five pounds to my daughter Harriett Bennett the sum of five pounds
to the children of my deceased daughter Mary Ellen Hodgkinson the sum of
five pounds betwixt them and to my daughter Abigail Prince the sum of five
pounds and I do hereby nominate and appoint my two sons Joseph Kirkham
and Thomas Kirkham both of the township of Fawfieldhead in the parish of
Alstonefield County of Stafford farmers Executors of this my last Will
and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this thirteenth
day of November one thousand eight hundred and eighty six -- James Kirkham

BE IT KNOWN, that at the date hereunder written, the last Will and
Testament of James Kirkham late
of the Spout Farm in the Township
of Fawfieldhead in the parish
of Alstonefield in the County
of Stafford Farmer
deceased, who died on the 31st day of August 1889
at the Spout Farm aforesaid
was proved and registered in the Principal
Probate Registry of Her Majesty's High Court of Justice, and that Administra-
tion of the personal estate of the said deceased was granted by the aforesaid Court
to Joseph Kirkham and
Thomas Kirkham both
of the said Township
Farmers the sons the
Executors
named in the said Will they having been first sworn well
and faithfully to administer the same.
