(Buckton seems to distinct from Buxton and its variants - at least around the Haddon/Bakewell area in the 17th century)
John Buckton, yeoman of Haddon, 1615
Will dated 6/2/1608[/09] mentions:
- "to be buied in the parish Church of Bakewell"
- "unto my honorable good master Sir George Manners knight ... his wife"
- "unto Mr Roger Manners Esquire"
- "my three children John, Roger and Gilbert" (mentions their education and future apprenticeships)
- "my said children to be ... brought upp by my executors"
- "Sir George Manners to be supervisor"
- "good friendes Edmund Adams and John Redferne my true and lawfull executors"
- Witnesses: John Stevenson, Tho: Bennett, Henry Thorpe, Edward Stevenson
Probate granted 20/5/1615 to Edmund Adams and John Redferne
