Rentals of Melbourne (Db). Half year rentals of tenements in Melbourne, Newton, Lammas and several closes, Melbourne Parsonage and [Melbourne] park. These are followed by sections on arable land, meadows, wood dales, tithe hay and agistments in the marsh and in Wilson end. With details of tenants names, rents and field and close names.
Includes a rental of the Peake with lands in Over Haddon, Bakewell, Ashford, Chelmorton, Monyash and Wardlow (all Db) for 29 Mar 1648 as well as both rentals for Melbourne for 1651

Lease for 21 years at rent of £10.5s. and 2 capons: for 100 marks: Sir Charles Cavendish of Welbeck and his wife Lady Katherine to Dennys Bocking, son of Thomas Bocking of Fowloe, yeoman:-- messuage, parcel of Grynlowe Grange, par. Hope and appurtenances occupied by Richard Longdon, Thomas Bocking, Richard Bancks and John Hoe, with tithes of corn, hay, wool and lamb on the premises --: Subject to a heriot. D.B. to "sett on worke according to the custome of the myne three groves or moe (i.e. more) for myners to worke in within or upon some olde Rake or Rakes within the lordshipp or Graunge of Grynlowe aforesaid" paying and doing to C. and K.C. "all such dueties and services as for growes or yewer mynes are and heretofore have been usually accustomed to be paide or done to any Lord of any soyle within the High Peake also Lott cope, tithe and privildge for buying of yewer or suit of court", or else to allow Sir C.C. to do so.
