John Flint

died 1762

Nothing is yet known of John's early life, or where he originated. He married a woman called Grace ⁽⁹⁾ and they had a daughter Barbara ⁽¹⁾. They moved to Tideswell, where John worked as a miner ^(4)(12), probably of lead, sometime shortly before March 1722, when Barbara was buried there ⁽¹⁾. They went on to have another daughter Grace later that year ⁽²⁾. Their son Joseph, who may also have been born before 1722, was buried in 1724 ⁽³⁾. Their next daughter, born in 1725, was also called Barbara ⁽⁴⁾, and she was followed by a son John in 1728 ⁽⁵⁾, although he only lived for a couple of months ⁽⁶⁾. They had a daughter Sarah in 1729 ⁽⁷⁾, and then another son John in 1732 ⁽⁸⁾.

John's wife Grace died in 1739 ⁽⁹⁾. His daughter Barbara died in 1748 ⁽¹⁰⁾.

John died in February 1762 ⁽¹¹⁾, having brought the surname Flint to Tideswell. His numerous descendants would live there up to the present day ⁽¹²⁾.

• Barbara died in March 1722, and was buried in Tideswell.
• Grace was born in 1722. Nothing more is known of her.
• Joseph died in 1724, and was buried in Tideswell.
• Barbara was born in 1725. She died unmarried in 1748.
• John was born in 1728. He only lived for 2 or 3 months and was buried in Tideswell.
• Sarah was born in 1729. Nothing more is known of her.
