Michael was born in about 1704 (20), the son of Richard and Ellen (1). He had an older brother John, and two older sisters, Elizabeth & Ellin. The family's history over the next few years is unclear, but by the time he was about 8, his brother had died, and he had two more sisters, Margaret and Mary (2). They were living in Taddington by 1712 when his brother Richard was born (3). Another brother George follwed a couple of years later (4), and his youngest brother John, was born in 1718 (5).
He married Mary Heyward, also from Taddington, at Bakewell, on 5th February 1730 (6). After marriage they continued to live with Michael's parents (1). Their first child, Richard was born the following year (7). Three more sons then followed - Michael in 1733 (8), Robert in 1734 (20), and William in 1739 (9). They had a daughter Mary the following year (10), but she only lived for about 8 months (11). They had twin daughters in 1742, and again named one of them Mary, and the other one Martha (12). Michael's mother died in May 1745 (14). His youngest son, George, was born later the same year (15). Three tears later, his son Michael died (16).
Michael's father died in 1759 (17), leaving the house to him (1). His wife Mary died in 1777 (18)(20), and Michael died, aged 81, at the start of 1785 (20). He was buried next to his wife (20) in Taddington churchyard on 4th January (19).
