Sarah was born in Flagg in 1751, the daughter of Matthew and Sarah, and baptised in Chelmorton on 10th November. She had two older brothers, Richard and Michael. Her sister Martha was born in 1752, followed by Betty in 1754 and Mary in 1757. Betty died the following month. Her brother Matthew was born in 1760, followed by another sister Hannah in 1762, a brother John in 1765, and finally Elizabeth in 1767.
She married David Frost of Sheldon in the summer of 1769, they settled there, and almost exactly nine months later their first child, Ann, was born. She had a son, Anthony, in 1772, then Michael in 1775. Next came three daughtes - Sarah in 1777, Martha in 1780 and Mary in 1782. In 1785 they had a son called David, but he must have died young, as when their youngest son was born the following year, he was also given the name David. Finally they had three more daughters - Hannah in 1789, Ruth in 1791, and the youngest, Elizabeth, in 1794.
Sarah died, aged 68, in 1819, and was buried in Bakewell on 5th August. Her husband survived her by nearly 6 years.Brief details of her children:
