Mary Gyte

circa 1724 - circa 1782

Mary was born in Chelmorton in 1724 ⁽¹⁾, apparently the youngest child of Thomas and Elizabeth, but I am waiting to see whether there are any wills to help confirm this....(There was another Mary Gyte bapt 2 years later, the daughter of Peter)

• Solomon was born in 1746 and baptised in Chelmorton on 8th July 1746. He is almost certainly the Solomon Mycock who was landlord of The Duke of York from 1792 to 1812.
• Mary was born in 1749, and died in 1762.
• Matthew was born in 1751, nothing more is known of him
• Elizabeth has her own page.
• George was born in late 1752 or early 1753, and must have died before the age of 2.
• George was born in late 1754 or early 1755. He may have been the same man who married Charlotte Holland in Earl Sterndale in 1784.
• James was born in 1756, nothing more is known of him.
• Samuel was born in 1759, nothing more is known of him.
• Martha was born in 1760, nothing more is known of her.
• Joseph was born in 1762, nothing more is known of him.
• Molly was born in 1764, nothing more is known of her.
• Hannah was born in 1765, and died in 1771.
• Benjamin was born in 1768, nothing more is known of him.
